Appendix 2 - Penalty guidelines

Guidelines

1. The penalties listed below are the most common reasons for which penalties are given.
2. The Race Director is empowered to enforce or overturn penalties as they see fit to do so.
3. The length of the penalty may be altered at the discretion of the stewards, as different situations may result in a different time penalty than stated below.
4. The stewards assess the penalties in this table. Repeat infractions may result in greater or cumulative penalties at the discretion of the stewards.

List of penalties

Pre-race infringements

• (4.2.4) Entering the race session with the wrong car number or team ID
  60 second time penalty

• (4.2.5) Entering the race session with the wrong car
  Disqualification from the event

• (4.5.4) Starting from the grid, while having to start from pits
  60 second time penalty

• (4.7.5) Leaving the pits too early at the start
  30 second time penalty

On-track infringements

• (4.4) Qualifying infringement
  20 second time penalty

• (4.7.4) Jump start
  30 second time penalty

• (5.5) Dangerous driving

  • 1st infringement: warning
  • 2nd infringement: 5-10 second time penalty
  • 3rd infringement: 10 seconds added to the previous time penalty

• (5.4) Incident responsibility

  1. Light contact:
     • 1st infringement: 5-30 second time penalty
     • 2nd infringement and further: 5-30 second time penalty plus 0-15 seconds added
  2. Heavy contact:
     • 1st infringement: 15-60 second time penalty
     • 2nd infringement and further: 15-60 second time penalty plus 15-30 seconds added

• (5.6) Deliberate contact
  Penalized at discretion of the Race Director

• (5.3) Blocking
  Penalized at discretion of the Race Director

• (5.7) Not respecting track limits

  • 1st infringement: warning
  • 2nd infringement: time penalty
  • Time penalty for not respecting track limits is announced in the drivers briefing.

• (5.7.7) Not respecting track limits when overtaking
  5 second time penalty

• (8.10) Unsafe rejoin
  Penalized at discretion of the Race Director

• (4.9) Exceeding driving time
  Laps over the driver's maximum driving time are deducted from the entry's total laps. The car will be scored as the last positioned on the lap in case of other cars having completed the same number of laps.

Penalties infringements

• (7.5.4) Not notifying Race Control after serving the penalty
  Penalty may not be considered served

• (7.5.6) Car has not stopped for the correct amount of time
  Penalty is not considered served.

• (7.4.4) Not serving the penalty within the time frame after the penalty is received
  Penalty time is doubled

Additional infringements

• (1.3.2) Adding new driver to entry's roster after the start of FP1
  60 second time penalty

• (6.1.2) Using voice/text chat in-game during qualifying
  Start from pits

• (6.1.2) Using voice/text chat in-game during race.
  Penalized at discretion of the Race Director

• (6.1.3) Sending private messages to current driver of another team
  5 second time penalty

• (5.1) Unprofessional behaviour
  Penalized at discretion of the organisation
